2015 has been another exceptional season in Novigrad, with that seemingly endless summer providing the perfect weather to enable our guests at Aminess to relax in the hospitality and activities provided by our team in our hotels and campsites.

There is a gradual change in life in southern Dalmatia as the summer months draw to a close. The beaches are emptier, the restaurants less busy, the roads are populated less with rented scooters and more with cyclists enjoying the cooler temperatures and spectacular views and weather, and many locals are to be found in their fields.

The beaches may be emptier, the sun seekers back in their offices, but there is plenty to attract visitors to Novigrad and the Istrian peninsula once the summer season has finished, for this is a year-round destination with its summer sun just one string in its tourism bow.

Blessed with sun, sea and perfect nature, Istria has one more weapon to attract tourists to this fabulous region – its gourmet offer. Famed for its truffles and excellent wine, one of the most important ingredients in the Mediterranean diet is olive oil, and in Croatia it is said that a fish must swim three times in life – firstly in the sea, then in quality olive oil during preparation, and finally in wine, as the guest enjoys the meal – and what better wine to suggest than world-famous Istrian Malvazija?
